Chicago Bears Rumors: 3 big trades that aren’t too late to make
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could take advantage of a lingering issue in Baltimore
The Baltimore Ravens still have an issue on their hands with offensive tackle Orlando Brown. Wanting to play left tackle so that he can be paid like a left tackle after his contract is up next year, Brown is not thrilled with going back to the right side with Ronnie Stanley coming back healthy.
The trade rumors have been going around for weeks now, but there has still been no deal done involving Brown. At this stage, the Bears could try and get a value by acquiring Brown and then handing him an immediate contract extension.
The Bears could try holding onto their first rounder this year while dealing the Ravens their second-round pick this year and a third rounder in next year’s draft. That way, Chicago could use their first-round pick on the best player available — no, quit hoping for a quarterback.
Brown is a Pro Bowl tackle who has established he can play on the left side, which would then push Charles Leno over to the right side. Heck, Leno might even be in for some competition on the right side, depending upon how the Bears want to use Germain Ifedi and Alex Bars.
With Brown in Chicago, the Bears’ offensive line could pull a complete 180 from where they were at the start of last season.
