5th round: Tre McKitty, TE, Georgia

The Bears trade pick 164 and a 2022 seventh-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys for pick 179 and 192

I traded down with the Cowboys in this simulation mock draft, picking up an additional fifth-round pick. I decided to once again focus on offense here, this time at the tight end position. The Bears still have Jimmy Graham on the roster despite his high cap number. Cole Kmet showed flashes towards the end of the season, but he figures to remain as the in-line TE.

The Bears need a move TE to groom behind Graham, McKitty is a quick-twitch athlete at the position that provides a lot of upside. As a receiver, he is solid at creating separation and boxing out defenders. McKitty is a versatile athlete at the position that can line up anywhere along the line and create mismatches.

As a blocker, he is not dominant but is a willing one. As a move TE at the next level blocking will not be a primary duty for him. The Bears seem to be happy with Graham for another year. They like how much of a mentor he has been for Kmet. Getting a young athletic TE to sit and learn behind could be beneficial long-term.
