The Chicago Blackhawks would love to get two draft picks for Mattias Janmark.

The Chicago Blackhawks loved having Mattias Janmark for the 2021 season. He proved to be a really good depth piece on a good team in the bubble with the Dallas Stars. They made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final before being defeated by the Tampa Bay Lightning. When he came to the Hawks, it was a bit strange because you would think a contender would be better suited. Well, the Hawks have been helped along by having him in their middle six.

If the Montreal Canadiens had a good depth goal scorer like Janmark, they would look even better on paper. We know they have good defense and goaltending on most nights so the forwards can use all of the help they can get. For the Habs, giving up a 2021 third-rounder and a 2021 sixth-rounder for him would be incredibly smart. He could even sign an extension if he fits in there.

That third going back to the Hawks actually used to belong to them. They gave it up (amongst other things) in the deal that brought back Andrew Shaw. Now, if the Blackhawks wanted it back, this would be a great way to do it. These picks don’t always turn out to be anything significant but you just never know.
