Chicago Bears NFL Draft 2021: 5 scenarios trading out of the first
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears get an elite offensive tackle in this trade
Now, we get a bit more interesting. The Baltimore Ravens still have a situation on their hands with offensive tackle Orlando Brown, who wants to play left tackle and get paid like a left tackle.
The Bears, meanwhile, have a receiver they are attempting to part with right now in Anthony Miller. The Ravens could use another pass-catcher and the Bears would desperately use a Pro Bowl tackle.
In this deal, the Bears acquire their Pro Bowl tackle in Brown, while also netting a fourth-round pick in the process — something they, again, do not currently own.
Baltimore would get Chicago’s first-round pick in return, along with Miller. It’s a pretty fair deal across the board, especially for the Ravens who will end up losing Brown to free agency once his deal is up next year. To get a first-round pick and potentially replace Brown in the process, instead of losing him for nothing, is a pretty strong return for the Ravens.
You would be able to look at Brown as the Bears’ first-round selection while also getting to pick in the fourth round, too, where they might again be able to find a mid-round quarterback prospect hanging around.
