Teddy Bridgewater may be on the move, which would help the Chicago Bears

The Carolina Panthers made a move for Sam Darnold just a few days ago, which likely meant last year’s starter, Teddy Bridgewater, would be on the move. Now, the Panthers have granted Bridgewater permission to seek a trade.

One of the more likely and sensible destinations seems like the Denver Broncos. General manager George Paton was formerly with the Minnesota Vikings and is familiar with Bridgewater from when the quarterback started his career there.

NBC Sports analyst Mike Florio suggests that Denver makes a lot of sense and could be one of the more obvious landing spots.

If the Broncos dealt for Bridgewater, that would mean he would become the likely starter, thus moving Drew Lock to a backup role. In that case, it would completely rule out the Broncos taking a quarterback with their ninth overall pick.

Carolina is sitting at pick no. 8, and they will probably not take a quarterback either, thus making it a couple of top-10 teams the Bears wouldn’t have to worry about in the first round quarterback spree.

The Bears should actually be rooting for Bridgewater to the Broncos at this point, especially after the Darnold trade. Having the Panthers and Broncos out of the quarterback race would be a huge advantage.
