Mattias Janmark has been a really nice signing for the Blackhawks. It was nice when they made it but it didn’t make much sense when you looked at the rest of their roster. A Stanley Cup team would love to have Janmark on their team but the Hawks are not even close to a Stanley Cup team. In fact, Janmark was literally in the Stanley Cup Final with the Dallas Stars in 2020. He is a great middle-six forward that can help any team win.

He has ten goals and nine assists for 19 points so far this season in 39 games. It isn’t a bad total for a guy who isn’t a star player or anything like that. The goal-scoring is something that is specifically nice about his game. If he went to a team like Toronto who has a lot of skill at forward, he might even find himself having even more success.

Getting Janmark might be something that only happens if they can agree on an extension but there is no doubt that he is worth it if the Leafs are serious about going deep into the postseason. This guy knows how to score and would solidify what we already know as a very dangerous attack.

The Maple Leafs haven’t made a deep playoff run in a very long time. Even if you aren’t a fan of theirs, there is no doubt that the sport of hockey would benefit from them going deep into the playoffs one time. They are the class of the North Division (or one of them) so it would be cool to see them make a big trade with the Hawks.
