Chicago White Sox: There is absolutely no reason to be worried
The Chicago White Sox went into the 2021 season with extremely high expectations. They have a really good lineup, an awesome starting rotation, and an incredible bullpen that make up their roster. However, sometimes it takes a minute to warm to the task of a 162 game marathon. That is happening to this version of the White Sox and their record to begin the year is 1-3 as a result.
They started 2020 off 1-4 and we saw how that turned out for them as they made the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. Regardless, there is so much to look at that proves that there is absolutely no reason to be worried about this baseball team right now.
There are a few reasons why the Chicago White Sox have started the season 1-3.
First of all, the Los Angeles Angels are no slouch. The White Sox certainly need to take care of their business against good teams too but this Angels lineup is nasty. Names like Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Jared Walsh, and Anthony Rendon amongst others all make life very difficult for the White Sox pitching. It was almost like nobody expected the Angels to explode like that.
Some of the mistakes that the White Sox have made were a big part of the bad start too. They have made too many errors which have led to extended innings which have led to lots of unearned runs. If the White Sox really buckles down on those errors, they will have an even better chance at winning more games.
We all know about the White Sox offense and how good it can be. They are loaded with stars that can really hit at a high level every single day. In this series against the Angels, they were very lackluster. There were flashes of good hitting but it was never consistent enough to win more than the one game. We know they are going to explode this year so they just need to get that confidence up.
The White Sox now gets to face the Seattle Mariners in the next series which begins tonight. It is a three-game set that the White Sox have to get through before coming home to play in front of their fans. It would be really nice to see the White Sox come home at .500 and feeling good about their game. There is no time to worry right now as the games just keep on coming. This team is so talented so it will come together.
