Chicago Bears: Draft day trades to make with Miami Dolphins

As the 2021 NFL Draft approaches, we have to be expecting at least one move by the Chicago Bears.

What’s the logic? It’s pretty black and white.

General manager Ryan Pace is still here, and no matter what we hear from George McCaskey and Ted Phillips, fans have to believe he is on his last chance in Chicago. Pace has now gone out and made four major moves regarding the quarterback position, and we’re about to find out if his most recent one pays off.

While Andy Dalton has been a respected veteran in this league for several years now, it’s tough to believe he is going to be the guy who puts this roster over the top. In fact, is seems as though Dalton’s signing in Chicago is yet another parallel move at the position.

Looking at this year’s draft class, the Bears would have to move up quite a bit in order to go get a top-tier rookie. Going even beyond quarterback, this team has some big holes. Whether or not they decide to address a certain hole in the first round remains to be seen. But, if they do want to plug as many holes as possible, it might make sense to make a deal or two.

One team the Chicago Bears could find success trading with is the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins are, quite frankly, on the upswing while the Bears continue to stand still. Miami looks as though they are standing behind second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and are ready to surround him with talent in order to make a playoff run this coming season.

The Bears, meanwhile, still lack an identity at the position.

Miami has done a nice job over the last year or so in acquiring plenty of draft capital while also attempting to solidify the most important position in football. With their current capital, there are several scenarios that could arise in which the Bears try to land one of their picks in this year’s draft.

Just how would Chicago go about it? A couple of different possibilities come to mind.
