The Chicago Blackhawks would be really smart to trade Carl Soderberg now.

The Chicago Blackhawks made a really late offseason signing when they brought in Carl Soderberg. He was a signing to replace Kirby Dach when he hurt his wrist playing for Canada at the World Junior Championships. Well, Dach is back now which makes Soderberg expendable. He has been much better for the Hawks than anyone could have thought so he could go somewhere else and have a good role.

He has six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 33 games played this year. That is not bad for someone getting 3rd or 4th line minutes in the NHL. Soderberg would be a tremendous 4th liner for his old team in the Boston Bruins. He played there for parts of three seasons to begin his career. Now, he would look great with Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, and Charlie Coyle ahead of him on the center chart.

Soderberg is having a good year but the Hawks won’t get much more than a sixth-round pick for him. It isn’t much but it is a great return for a player that we were all mad at them for bringing in the first place. Soderberg isn’t going to stay beyond this year so if someone offers something for him then the Hawks should do it right away.
