Here’s what the Chicago Bulls need to break their five-game losing streak
By Ryan Taylor
The Bulls have three important players currently out due to injury, who are all listed as day-to-day.
Coby White is out with a neck injury and has been left out of the last three games because of the hinder. Staff officials do not believe the injury is serious, and he should be returning soon.
White has been coming off the bench to lead the second rotation with Lauri Markkanen. He has shown flashes of consistent scoring off the bench, as his 17-point game against the Denver Nuggets in overtime on Mar. 19. But, his efficiency is a problem, shooting 35 percent from the field in his last three games. Nevertheless, the Bulls could use his scoring ability back.
Garrett Temple was originally out of the Bulls lineup for 10 days and seven games due to an ankle injury. He came back for the Bulls’ loss to the Spurs, then proceeded to leave in the second quarter of the next game due to a hamstring injury.
Bulls fans know all too well the defensive presence Temple brings to the second rotation. His defensive rating (113) and his defensive box plus/minus (-0.1) are misleading because he takes the toughest assignments against the Bulls’ opponents.
Zach LaVine is suffering an ankle injury that has bothered him during games. He missed his first game of the season on Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns.
"“It’s a decision I’m going to have to make coming up,” said LaVine when asked about taking rest days. “It just sucks.”"
No need to explain why the Bulls need this guy back. He is the leader and the star. The Bulls can hardly do much without him. Surprisingly, they were able to compete with the Suns without him.
