Now that the Chicago Bears are a month away from the 2021 NFL Draft, offseason needs are becoming more and more glaring.

After the first few weeks of free agency, the team still has a lot of questions and very few answers. This makes not only the draft more important, but assessing the remaining free agents a priority as well.

The offseason headline, for the Bears, can be summed up by asking one simple question: “Why?”

Fans cannot comprehend how this team now has even more question marks than it did before the offseason. Signing Andy Dalton to be their starting quarterback (or so we are told) seemed like a repeat of last year’s move, acquiring Nick Foles.

Cutting Kyle Fuller made zero sense as well, when the team could have extended him in order to save money. The locker room has been a bit puzzled and upset over the past couple of weeks, according to multiple reports, and it seems that the Fuller transaction was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

So, while Ryan Pace tries to convince us all that Dalton is the guy and we should be looking forward to him winning games in 2021, fans are smarter than that. We know there are still so many holes on this roster, quarterback included.

The current free agent pool won’t provide the Bears with an answer at quarterback, unfortunately. That will have to be addressed in the draft, if Pace would be so bold. However, there are still several names available to sign, and some of them would significantly help deepen this Bears roster.
