Chicago Bulls Trade Deadline Addition: Daniel Theis
In another video, this one shows how the Celtics’ run their offense involving a lot of pistol formations and screen-and-rolls. It is flattering to see how well Theis fits into this offense because he can set hard screens and shoot really well from mid-range.
Theis has a lot of strong suits to his game in the NBA, particularly with efficiency in his role as a center off the bench. He plays roughly 24.5 minutes per game and he is sporting a 123 offensive rating this season, which is well above average for any player.
He averages 9.5 points 1.7 assists per game, shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 34.7 from distance. Theis also can finish incredibly around the rim at a rate of 75.6 percent. His best offensive asset is the pick-and-pop because he can set hard screens and he shoots 55 percent from midrange.
His ability to protect the paint is quite valuable as well. His defensive statistics were much better when he entered the league three years ago, but he can still attribute to this team issue. He allows his opponents just a 45.7 percent field goal percentage and 60.5 percent around the rim, which are both above-average values for starting centers.
