Chicago Bears Draft: Three Alabama Crimson Tide stars to consider
The Chicago Bears could use some help on defense as it ages a little bit.
The Chicago Bears defense has been really good over the last few years. They are now starting to get a little bit older but there are some nice players that are young to build around. We know about Khalil Mack and his greatness but he might need some help soon. Akiem Hicks might have a foot out the door and Robert Quinn was awful in his first year with the Bears.
If they want some help on the defensive line, Alabama might be a good place to look. The Bears, and every team in the NFL, can always work on stopping the run and creating a pass rush. Christian Barmore was really good for Alabama in 2020-21 on their defense. He helped them create pressure and stop the run as well as any defense in the nation.
Barmore is projected to go in the first round of this year’s draft and if the right offensive tackle or quarterback isn’t available for the Bears, Barmore would be a great choice. Getting a player this good at a position like that would really help the defense going forward.
Now, there is no guarantee that the Bears look to Alabama when it comes to the draft. There are some other elite schools but Nick Saban’s program is the cream of the crop right now. There is a reason that they have so many great players projected to go in the first round. Clearly, the Bears see something because they were in attendance at his Pro Day.
