Mac Jones could be the future quarterback of the Chicago Bears starting in 2021.

The Chicago Bears need a quarterback. Andy Dalton isn’t the answer. He isn’t quite as bad as Mike Glennon but he hasn’t been good in years. He has a couple of Pro Bowls under his belt but that is ancient history. He will certainly be QB1 in week one but it would be nice to see him have some competition. That competition looks like it would, if at all, come in the form of a rookie drafted out of college.

We all know that Trevor Lawrence is going to be the first overall pick in the draft. Justin Fields and Zach Wilson are in the mix to be the next two in line and then comes guys like Trey Lance and Mac Jones. Jones was the quarterback of the Crimson Tide en route to becoming the 2021 College Football National Champions. It was a fantastic season for him on a personal level as well.

Not many Alabama quarterbacks get the credit they deserve but Jones has gotten his fair amount of credit. He is more than likely going to be one of the five quarterbacks taken off the board in the first round. In fact, it is possible that the Bears have to trade up to get him because he won’t be there by pick 20. Ryan Pace hasn’t been good at evaluating the position but if Matt Nagy is into this kid, they should consider it.
