Three Chicago Bears free agents to consider bringing back
The Chicago Bears could use as many defensive backs as possible this year.
The Chicago Bears have made some foolish decisions over the offseason so far. One of them was signing Andy Dalton with the money that they should be paying Kyle Fuller. Now they are going to watch Fuller be awesome with Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos while Dalton stinks up the place in Chicago. Well, you know Ryan Pace is going to try and replace him with a cheaper option.
Tashaun Gipson is someone that they should consider as a defensive back in 2021. He started all 16 games for the Bears in 2020 so he deserves a chance in 2021. It isn’t like this team is so good that Gipson doesn’t deserve another opportunity with them. He made two interceptions for the Bears in 2020 which accumulated 10 return yards. He isn’t a superstar or anything like that but he can make a big play every now and again.
Gipson has played in all 16 of his team’s games in four of the last five seasons. He has at least one interception every year of his career which spans nine years. 2020 was his first with the Bears after time spent with the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars. After all of that, it would be nice to see him get another chance with the Bears. He deserves it.
We shouldn’t be hoping that the Bears are good because that will make Ryan Pace look good even though we know he is not. However, you cheer for the logo in sports, and bringing some of these guys back might help them win. The good news is that there will for sure be change if they don’t succeed in 2021.
