Chicago Bears Late Round QB Options: Kellen Mond, Texas A&M

Lastly, the Bears should keep most of their attention geared towards Kellen Mond out of all these guys. The Texas A&M product has gained more steam over the last month or so and, quite honestly, could go at a variety of spots in the draft.

The Draft Network still has him pegged as a later round guy, though, likely being selected between the fifth and seventh round.

Mond has an impressive track record at Texas A&M. Over his last three seasons, Mond has thrown for 8,286 yards, 63 touchdowns and just 21 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 1,609 yards and 22 touchdowns throughout his collegiate career.

Aside from his obvious ability to take good care of the football, Mond’s best trait is his ability to sense pressure and navigate away from it. He’s athletic enough to be able to move around in the pocket and get himself in position to make a concerted throw, despite the threat of being taken down.

Mond has definitely been a riser recently and could even find himself getting into the fourth round, so including him in a late round group is somewhat of a muddy idea. Plenty of folks are still split on Mond, but he does present a smart, mobile quarterback at a much cheaper price tag. The Bears could end up getting a steal with him.
