Chicago Bears 2021 NFL Draft: Late round quarterback possibilities

The Chicago Bears could opt to look at potentially adding two quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft.

No one knows for sure what the Bears’ plan is going into the draft this year, but general manager Ryan Pace certainly has not done enough to warrant his job being safe — if you ask the fans, of course.

This offseason, we saw a couple of changes under center. First, the Bears allowed Mitchell Trubisky to leave after four seasons in Chicago. Trubisky ultimately ended up signing with the Buffalo Bills to back up Josh Allen.

Secondly, the Bears went out and signed Andy Dalton to be their presumed starter. Following the signing, we heard that Dalton was Pace’s top target all along — proceed with the head scratching.

Now, the idea that the Bears may end up trading Nick Foles has surfaced and is becoming a real possibility. If that is the case, then Pace is far from done at quarterback. In fact, we may be in for a repeat of what happened back in 2017 when the Bears signed Mike Glennon, promising him the starting job.

We all know how that turned out.

In this year’s draft, the Bears could trade up in the first round to land their quarterback of the future who would come in and sit behind Dalton for who knows how long. But, as previously mentioned, Pace could also add a third quarterback later on.

It is not out of the question for Chicago to be looking at adding an additional quarterback in later rounds, especially if it means Pace is officially doing everything he can to fix the position. If they look to the later rounds (think Round 5 or later), the following guys would be worth checking into.
