9. . LF. Chicago Cubs. Joc Pederson. 24. player

5. Joc Pederson is the newest addition to the Chicago Cubs lineup.

The Chicago Cubs letting Kyle Schwarber go was very confusing. Like literally every other Cubs star, Schwarber struggled in 2020. He was the odd man out for some reason and now he is gone. He will be missed for sure by the fanbase. The thing that makes it even more confusing is the fact that they replaced him with Joc Pederson. He was almost equally as expensive and should give similar production if not worse.

The only thing that might have made Pederson more attractive for the Cubs is the fact that he would probably be easier to trade if they were down in out by the deadline. So far, Pederson has been awesome for the Cubs in the preseason. He looks like someone who will absolutely bring value to the Cubs lineup this season.

He also brings a bit of energy. He is fresh off of winning the World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020. A lot of the Cubs’ core has also won the World Series so it isn’t like his experience in the playoffs is extremely valuable but he does have that drive to feel the way he did last October. It would be nice to see him impact the lineup the way he has in the past for LA.
