3. Anthony Rizzo is about to have a huge year for the Chicago Cubs in 2021.
The Chicago Cubs need the most out of Anthony Rizzo. He is going to be dealing with some contract issues as the year goes along too but there is much more optimism surrounding him than some of the other expiring contracts on the team. He wasn’t the best he can be in 2020 but that is going to be a recurring thing for a lot of players in this lineup.
Rizzo is the team’s captain and one of the most important players they have ever had. He needs to be one of those guys who dominate in 2021 if this team is going to have a chance. He will have the perfect opportunity to do that if he is in fact given the third spot in the lineup.
He wants to win as bad as any player in baseball right now so you know that the way his 2020 season went doesn’t sit well with him. He needs to be better and a lot of his teammates will surely follow if he is. With the way this team is built right now, Rizzo can’t be happy with what some people are saying about them. He knows what this lineup is capable of if they are healthy so expect him to go out there and lead it.
