1. Nick Foles is now a potential trade chip for the Chicago Bears

After the Dalton news, some wondered whether or not that meant Nick Foles would be the backup or on his way out. With the reports stating the Bears signed Dalton to be their starter, it was safe to say Foles would not be “the guy.”

One insider, most famous for his work close to the Denver Broncos, believes Foles could be dealt. Benjamin Allbright actually suggested that Foles could be traded even before the Bears signed Dalton, which is interesting. Maybe the Bears have wanted to trade him for a while not.

Although he’s not a great fit with the Bears and their offense, Foles could still be a solid backup option for some teams. Think about a team like the Tennessee Titans, or even the Kansas City Chiefs.

If Pace could field some calls for Foles and potentially wind up with a later-round pick (think a sixth or seventh rounder), that would be well-worth pulling the trigger. Not only do they get Foles’ salary off the books, but they net a draft pick in return.

The biggest part of a Foles trade would signal that Chicago is not even close to done at quarterback. They would then need a backup, or better yet, a future starter to take Dalton’s place.
