The Chicago Bears should be ashamed of themselves

It is typical in the life of a Chicago Bears fan to be ashamed of the team. They haven’t achieved greatness in over 30 years outside of a few one-and-done seasons. It has been in large part due to their suspect offense being unable to overcome bad quarterback play. Their defense and running game are usually fine but we all know about how important a good quarterback is. After 100 years of having a low-level play at that position, things are only getting worse.

The Chicago Bears have made the terrible decision to sign Andy Dalton.

Mike Glennon, Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles, and Andy Dalton. Those are the four quarterbacks that Ryan Pace will be remembered for bringing in to start for the Chicago Bears. Honestly, Trubisky is the best of that lousy bunch. The news that Dalton is coming to Chicago to play for the Bears is the most dissapointing thing that has happened to this team in a long time and that is saying something because they are largely a joke.

Yes, you read that right. They are a joke. They are as bad as the Cleveland Browns or Washington Football Team in terms of running their organization. For a century they have had mediocre to bad quarterback play and they have only one Super Bowl. That is very lousy for being one of the league’s “pillar organizations”.

The fact of the matter is that just because they are an old franchise doesn’t mean that they are a pillar organization. They flat out stink and it is time to call them out on it. The ownership group and team president should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this historic team to sink to the level that they are at.

This is a Chicago Bears town. We all love our baseball but there are two teams. The Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls are sweet but neither of them galvanizes the city like the Bears. It doesn’t make sense because they are bad but it is what it is. Signing Dalton is just another step in that idea.

2021 is already a wasted season. We know that this isn’t going to be a Super Bowl contender and there will be changes after the upcoming year. That is so frustrating because there is no reason not to make a change right now. The final season of the John Fox era is exactly what the Bears are going to be dealing with this year.

We don’t know what their plans are in the draft but we certainly have no evidence to believe in them. If you wake up this morning disgusted with your favorite football team, you have every right to be.
