Chicago Bears 7-Round Mock Draft: A post-Andy Dalton dilemma
By Ryan Heckman
With the Bears potentially losing Allen Robinson in a trade or holdout, they are going to need to add depth at receiver in the form of another starter opposite Darnell Mooney. In the second round, Chicago goes with one of Joe Burrow’s former favorites, Terrace Marshall out of LSU.
Some folks either don’t know much about Marshall or sleep on him because he was, at one point, third in the pecking order at LSU. When Burrow was the starter, Marshall played behind Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. What some may not realize, though, is that even though he played with those two, Marshall still caught 13 touchdowns in 2019.
Marshall is a 6-foot-3 tower who can do it all. He has the ability to line up anywhere the Bears would like, whether it be in the slot or out wide. This is a receiver who is NFL-ready from the get-go. His combination of size and athleticism makes him one of the draft’s most polished prospects. The only reason he will fall is because there are so many great players to be drafted ahead of him.
But, Marshall is a future stud in this league. He has terrific ball skills and can go up and high-point the football with the best of them. In Chicago, Marshall would easily line up opposite Mooney as the second starting receiver, if not supplant him as the no. 1 option.
