The Dallas Cowboys have the #10 selection in the upcoming NFL draft. That pick would put the Bears in a solid spot for acquiring Trey Lance, and a secure place to take Mac Jones if needed.

The Cowboys need a lot of help defensively, which the Bears can provide through draft capital. They ranked 28th last season in defense, allowing 29.6 points per game to their opponents.

This trade could provide a lot of support for both sides of the equation. For the Bears, getting the #10 pick in the draft solidifies them walking away with a good quarterback in the first round. Is that Trey Lance? Sadly, that’s the downside. The first ten picks could be quarterback-heavy.

For the Cowboys, their only hope in the first round is rebuilding their defense. Tyson Campbell, cornerback out of Georgia, could be their 20th pick in the draft. This leaves them with Campbell, Trevon Diggs, Xavier Woods, and Donovan Wilson — a solid group of defensive backs. They could keep improving their offensive line/secondary with the fifth-round draft option too.

For the Bears though, this isn’t the most exciting trade option. If they are set on Trey Lance, the tenth spot in the draft is not the most secure place to be. Let’s check out other trade partners to lock in Lance.
