The Chicago Bears deal a plethora of picks in this first 3-team trade

First, we need to establish the fact that there are many folks suggesting the Bears do not have what it takes to make an enticing offer to Seattle. The main two reasons include the Bears not boasting high enough draft picks, as well as not being able to send a future quarterback option to the Seahawks.

Seattle may want to establish a starting quarterback within this deal instead of taking their chances on a veteran free agent or hoping they can somehow move up in the draft with their multiple picks from a Wilson deal. If the Jets get involved, of course, Darnold becomes an option.

In this first deal, the Bears would send the Seahawks their first round picks in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Seattle would also get the Jets’ no. 23 pick this year, making it a whopping four firsts heading to Seattle. Darnold ends up a Seahawk, as well.

If the Jets are giving up both Darnold and a first-round pick, they will need to come away with a haul as well. So, the Bears send veteran Nick Foles to the Jets as their bridge to a rookie. They also give up last year’s second-round pick Jaylon Johnson, an up-and-coming cornerback which gives the Jets some solidarity in their secondary.

Lastly, Chicago sends a second rounder next year and fourth rounder in 2023 to the Jets to help compensate.
