The Chicago Bears’ chances rose dramatically with a final Russell Wilson domino on Wednesday

Wednesday night, something big happened in the sports betting world. For those who may be unfamiliar, people can log onto sports betting sites and place bets on just about anything, including the futures of certain athletes.

For example, there are futures bets up for guys like Sam Darnold and Mac Jones — two players with totally unpredictable futures, and for different reasons. Darnold has been amidst trade rumors and Jones could be drafted anywhere in the first round. There are plenty of possibilities, therefore it’s an interesting bet to place.

For a while now, Russell Wilson’s name has been in the “futures” pools. People have been able to place bets on where they think Wilson will ultimately land — until Wednesday night.

Very rarely do you see all major betting outlets remove odds from their website without something imminently happening. Sometimes, they are taken down and put right back up. However, that’s not the case here.

The betting world has to know something before the public does, simply because there would be an unfair advantage for folks placing bets on a trade that is close to being announced. There is a lot of money riding on these things, so outlets have to be careful.

Is something happening? We don’t know right now, but it surely feels like it.
