A third national reporter had something big to say about the Chicago Bears and Russell Wilson

Later in the afternoon on Wednesday, NFL Network’s Mike Silver was busy responding to Twitter questions as he so often does — which we all greatly appreciate. A tip of the cap to Mr. Silver, who is always so engaged with the fans.

Silver was asked about Russell Wilson and which team he thought made the most sense if Wilson were to be traded.

Silver’s opinion on this matters, and it matters a lot. He works closely, every day, with guys like Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport. This is not something that should be swept under the rug or notated as just an opinion.

This is a guy who is far too connected around the NFL to take anything he says lightly.

To be quite frank, he’s spot on when he called the Bears the most likely team to trade for Wilson, too. The facts speak for themselves. Dak Prescott is staying put with the Dallas Cowboys now after he agreed to a new deal. That takes one team out of the four listed by Wilson’s agent.

The New Orleans Saints have long considered sticking with either Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston — or both. Not to mention, their cap situation is one of the worst in the league right now. The Bears’ isn’t great either, but New Orleans’ likelihood of trading for Wilson is much less.

Then, you have the Raiders, who have given votes of confidence to Derek Carr all offseason. It seems silly that they would do so, all the while be prepping for a big trade to ship him out of town.
