The Chicago Bulls should go after Nikola Vucevic

The number one trade the Bulls should look to complete is for Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic. There have been rumors of the Magic wanting to field offers for him, as they likely won’t compete anytime soon.

Vucevic is one of the lesser talked about studs in the league. He’s been one of the best big men in all of basketball for a while now. The 30-year-old has been a two-time All Star over his career, but should have received far more notoriety than he has since entering the league in 2011.

If the Bulls were to pull off a deal for Vucevic, they would immediately become a better team. Wendell Carter Jr. is slowly developing, but has not been able to prove his health can hold up. He’s also a lot softer than some fans would prefer. Vucevic is more physical and a better all-around offensive player, too.

This season, Vucevic is having a career season, averaging 24.6 points, 11.6 boards and 3.7 assists per game while shooting over 41 percent from 3-point range.

The Bulls would send Carter, Otto Porter Jr., a top-10 protected first rounder this year and an unprotected first next year to land Vucevic.

Vucevic’s contract doesn’t run out until the summer of 2023, giving the Bulls a solid length of time to continue building a championship contending team with Vucevic in the middle.
