Chicago Bears draft targets to compliment Russell Wilson: OL Alex Leatherwood, Alabama
No matter what, the Bears will have to go after some offensive line help in this year’s draft. Wilson or not, this is a priority for the Bears who will be making changes up front. There is no doubt Chicago is going to part with one of their offensive tackles this week, and they’ll be looking for a replacement in the draft.

Alabama offensive linemen are usually a sure bet to work out well in the pros, and Alex Leatherwood is no different. He is being mocked in the second or third round at the moment, and the Bears would get a multi-faceted player in Leatherwood.
He has had experience playing both guard and tackle, with the latter being his most recent position. Leatherwood played left tackle for the Crimson Tide over the past two seasons, protecting both Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones. That’s not a bad résumé for an offensive tackle coming out of college.
While some scouts think Leatherwood may be better suited inside at guard, he will have his chance to prove he can stick at tackle. The questions are mostly due to his lack of lower mobility. But, if he can continue to improve there, he has everything else you’d desire in a left tackle.
Leatherwood possesses great size at 6-foot-5 and 312 pounds. The strength is there and he’s able to take pass rushers head-on without a problem. Again, lateral movement is the only question.
