Chicago Bears draft targets to compliment Russell Wilson: WR Nico Collins, Michigan
One of the biggest questions this offseason is going to be what happens with wide receiver Allen Robinson. Now, you’d have to believe that if the Bears landed Wilson, there’s no way Robinson would want out. One would assume that the Bears would be able to work out a deal to keep Robinson in Chicago.
Regardless, it’s interesting to look at some bigger-bodied wide receivers who would bode well for Wilson in Chicago. With the Seahawks, Wilson has a young stud like D.K. Metcalf. It’s going to be impossible to find a replica of such a physical specimen like Metcalf, but Nico Collins is definitely a similar prospect.
The Michigan product sat out 2020 to get ready for the draft during an uncertain season. Collins stands 6-foot-4 weighing in around 215 pounds. He projects as a potential top dog on the outside and would give the Bears a guy who can do it all.
Collins’ ability to get behind a defense and track the deep ball is one of his most impressive traits, but he also has incredible hands. He will have to expand his route tree a little bit and prove his college numbers were indeed a product of poor quarterback play. But, the physical abilities are all there with Collins.
