Chicago Bears: The Seahawks want what for Russell Wilson?
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears may part with cornerback Jaylon Johnson in the trade
A common name thrown around by fans on social media, when referencing a Wilson trade, is cornerback Jaylon Johnson, Entering his second season out of Utah, Johnson proved he could hang as a rookie.
Johnson became one heck of a compliment to Kyle Fuller right away as a rookie. He and Fuller were, at one point, the number one cornerback duo in football when it came to opposing quarterback rating.
The Seahawks were almost dead last in overall passing defense in 2020, with just the Atlanta Falcons behind them at no. 32. Seattle gave up 285.0 yards per game through the air last season, compared to the Bears at 231.0.
Johnson was a big part of the Bears’ pass defense last season, and he appears to be a huge building block going forward. It’s no wonder the Seahawks may prefer him over Kyle Fuller, who is on a much larger contract.
Seattle will probably end up asking for something similar to the Houston Texans’ rumored asking price for Deshaun Watson once upon a time: a minimum of two defensive starters accompanied by picks. Mack, Johnson and multiple firsts would be an enormous return for Seattle. But, again, not all of these names may be thrown into the same deal.
