Chicago Bears: The Seahawks want what for Russell Wilson?
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears would part with multiple first-round picks for Russell Wilson
Looking at the other teams mentioned in Wilson’s top-four preferred destinations, the Bears would have some strong competition in terms of potential draft capital. Wilson mentioned the Saints, Raiders and Cowboys as his other three teams.
The Saints are the only team that shouldn’t scare the Bears, here. They pick behind Chicago in this year’s draft and don’t have a ton of 2021 capital to begin with.
The Raiders and Cowboys, though, are a different story. Dallas, for example, holds the no. 10 overall pick in this year’s draft, which is much more appealing than the Bears’ no. 20 selection overall. Las Vegas sits at pick 17.
Seattle would obviously assume that, any team they deal Wilson to, would ultimately finish with a much later first-round pick in the coming drafts. With the Bears holding a later pick this year than two of his preferred teams, they may have to offer a little more in terms of draft compensation.
Fuges mentions that his source believes the Bears will give up a minimum of multiple first-round picks, which was likely already assumed by most who have kept up on the situation. However, in addition to multiple firsts, the Seahawks have also mentioned a few key names, starting with the big guy.
