Chicago Bulls: Three ways Andre Drummond would impact the Bulls
By Ryan Taylor
The Bulls are very productive on offense this season. They average 115 points per game which holds them in the sixth-best position in the NBA. They shoot 48.6 percent from the field as a team which the fifth-best percentage in the league.
The Bulls have a great offense, led by the motion-cutting scheme of Billy Donovan. That is made with double-on ball screens, dribble hand-offs, and lots of cutting. The bigs in Donovan’s offense usually have pick-and-roll or passing from the high post role.
Drummond is a scorer in the paint, not the most efficient offensive player, but he can be effective. He averages a career 15.6 points per game and has averaged over 17 points per game in his last three seasons.
The name of the game for Drummond is efficiency. His field goal percentage has declined all the way to 47.4 percent this season which is not good for a big of his caliber, especially since he once averaged over 60% in the first two seasons of his career.
While Drummond is a career 64.3 percent finisher around the rim, he cannot shoot far outside of those limits. He shoots 37.5 percent from 3-10 feet and 28.1 percent from 10-16 feet. Donovan will have to figure out how to use Drummond in his offense, but if he can do that, Drummond will be a huge help to the Bulls.
