Bulls fans should recognize how good of a rebounder Andre Drummond is in the NBA. Drummond averages a career 13.8 rebounds per game, which is unearthly. He has led the league in rebounds four times in his career which includes three straight years in a row from 2016-2018.

This season, Drummond is leading the league in defensive rebound percentage (37.8 percent) and total rebounding percentage (26.3 percent). Drummond ranks in the top-15 for total defensive and offensive rebounds and he has only played 25 games this season (missing ten thus far).

The bottom line is that the guy knows how to grab a board and it could only help the Bulls to acquire a strong rebounder like Drummond. The Chicago Bulls don’t necessarily need rebounding help. This season, they have grabbed 8.9 offensive rebounds per game (22nd), 35.3 defensive rebounds per game (11th), and 52 total rebounds per game (15th).

The Bulls are an average rebounding team, and Drummond can make them astronomically better in that department. The Bulls’ best rebounder is Wendell Carter who averages 7.8 rebounds per game this season. Drummond has averaged twice that in multiple seasons of his career. Drummond’s ability to be effective with this skill is underrated because it’s not a highly valued skill.
