22. player. 57. . CB. Chicago Bears. Kindle Vildor

Speaking of staying in-house, the Chicago Bears should consider having Kindle Vildor as their new starting cornerback. Much like Shelley, he participated in a lot of Bears games during the 2020 season. In fact, he appeared in all 16 games. However, he only started in one of them so becoming a starter would really be an adjustment for him. If they went this route, as mentioned before, it would be a much cheaper route than keeping Skrine or looking in free agency.

Kindle Vildor was a 5th round pick (163rd overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he had an okay year as a backup but it would be interesting to see more. He had 17 total tackles (13 solos and 4 assists) and one pass deflection. If he gets the chance to start in 2021, it would be a fantastic opportunity for a second-year player to take the next step.

The Bears had the second oldest defense in the NFL in 2020. They have a lot of great players like Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks, Kyle Fuller, and Eddie Jackson but there is no doubt that they need to get a little bit younger. If they replaced Buster Skrine with Kindle Vildor, they would certainly be a younger defense. We would just have to hope that they also become a better (or at least the same) defense.
