2. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are in an interesting situation this offseason. Future Hall of Famer Drew Brees has yet to announce his retirement, while Jameis Winston, a former first-round pick could be a reclamation project for the Saints. Something to note is that Winston isn’t under contract for 2021 with the Saints, so moving on from Winston could mean New Orleans is gearing up to make a run at Wilson.

Ideally for the Bears, Brees decides to hold off retirement for another year and come back for one last run in 2021 headlining an offensive core that features running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas. However, if Brees isn’t back, the Saints could make a play for Wilson, pairing him up with Thomas and Kamara.

New Orleans is interesting due to their lack of draft capital. While New Orleans has its four picks in the first four rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft, even that might not be enough to convince Seattle to send Wilson to New Orleans.

New Orleans does have all its draft picks in 2022, including two third-round picks that could be used as leverage in trading for Wilson. Much like the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans is only a team that could get involved in the Wilson sweepstakes depending on what their 2020 starter decides to do for the 2021 season.
