“Um, what’s this for… a nap?”

No, you hit the pillow; relieves stress, but saves your knuckles. Go ahead and give it a try!

*Tim casually pulls out from his wallet this picture of Ryan Pace, tapes it on the pillow, and goes to town*

Feel better?

*Tim looks at the unrecognizable picture of Pace with a grin*

Yup!

*Takes a deep, cleansing breath*

Back to the Quarterback situation. The scary thing now is that the Bears are going “all in” this offseason on a Quarterback. This is triggering my commitment issues we talked about last time.

How can I trust that front office and the coaches to find the right Quarterback?

I have no faith in Ryan Pace here and to unpack his track record would take five sessions. I’m honestly worried he’s going to rogue (Just like 2017) as Kevin Costner did in “Draft Day.”

How about Matt Nagy? Nagy was only a part of the 2017 Kansas City evaluation of Patrick Mahomes. General Manager Brett Veach spent the most time with the kid and had the conviction Mahomes was the franchise QB. Why aren’t more people talking about that?

When it comes to the Quarterback selection, I’m sure they convince themselves that Sam Darnold is a reclamation project they can save. They’ll all feel the “conviction” and trade a little more than they should to get their guy.

Or maybe they’ll end up giving up a ton of future capital to move up a little too high in the draft to select Trey Lance, who needs a few years to develop.

And you know what? We all know ownership; everyone will be here another two-to-three years like a happy family while this rookie Quarterback develops!

Or maybe… Just maybe… They risk it all and trade for an actual franchise Quarterback.

Reality hits, however, when you realize the team doesn’t have the players nor the draft capital to compete with other team’s offers.

it really sucks because we all know it’s’ going down in flames after this season.

Coming into 2019, I had such high expectations- I thought it would all be different. But it wasn’t.
