Chicago Bears: Three QBs to stay away from this offseason
Everyone in the NFL community loved Ryan Fitzpatrick. He is just a bearded dude that is fun to root for from time to time. The “Fitz-magic” craze has been fun to follow for all of these years but he isn’t someone that a team like the Bears should be looking at. He is the guy you come in and have as a placeholder for the next guy. The Bears don’t have a “next guy” to have Fitzpatrick come in for so he would be a terrible option.
This team believes that their roster will compete for a championship if they added an elite quarterback. Fitzpatrick is far from that, especially at 38 years old. There is a reason that his next team will be his ninth team. He has never stayed with an organization for longer than four years. In 2015, he had a 3900-yard season with the New York Jets which is closer to the 4000-yard mark than any Bears quarterback has ever had.
We don’t want to see him retire or anything like that and this isn’t even really a knock on him. He would just be a terrible fit for this Bears team based on what they claim they are trying to do. If they drafted someone good that they believe in then maybe but it doesn’t seem like they are going to go that route.
