The Chicago Bears should probably stay away from Marcus Mariota. It doesn’t seem like he is going to ever be the guy who he was drafted really high to be. He was sent out of Tennessee when Ryan Tannehill came in and took his job so he went to Vegas and was a backup there while Derek Carr ran the show. If he hasn’t made it as a starter at this point in his career, there is a good chance that he is never going to make it.

In his career, he has a losing record of 29-32, has only completed 62 percent of his passes, and has never had a 3500-yard season. That would be more of the same for the Bears in terms of a quarterback who is short of someone who can move the ball to help them score. He has 77 career touchdowns to 45 interceptions. That isn’t as bad as you can imagine but the other numbers prove that he won’t help this Bears team win.

If the Bears want to go in a direction that is completely different from Trubisky or Foles, then Mariota can’t be an option. They need someone who is going to come in and help them score more than they have been otherwise Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy is going to be gone. Bringing Trubisky back would probably be smarter than going for a guy like Mariota.
