Chicago Bears Rumors: Russell Wilson would consider Bears in trade
It is amazing that a quarterback of Russell Wilson’s caliber would consider coming to Chicago to play for the Chicago Bears but that is officially on the table right now.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the veteran quarterback has the Bears on his list of teams that he would want to play for if he wasn’t afforded the opportunity to finish his career with Seattle. It seems like he wants to finish in Seattle but he listed the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and Chicago Bears as the only teams he would accept a trade to.
People might now realize what a trade like that would do for the Chicago Bears. This team went 8-8 with Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles who are both below-average quarterbacks. If they added someone like Wilson, they would instantly become Super Bowl contenders. A lot of people consider Patrick Mahomes to be the best active quarterback in the NFL and that is fair. Well, Russell Wilson is in that conversation for the second best.
Wilson has thrown for 4000 yards in two straight seasons. No Chicago Bears quarterback has ever done that in the history of the league. It wouldn’t take long for him to become the greatest Bears quarterback of all time. He has been to the Pro Bowl seven times and is a Super Bowl Champion. He also has another Super Bowl appearance in addition.
Not only would Wilson bring elite QB play to the table, but he also has the invaluable experience to bring to the table. This Bears team would change instantly if he was added. A lot of people see them as a borderline playoff team right now with below-average quarterbacks, imagine if they added an elite one. You cannot win in the National Football League if you don’t have one of those guys as it is proven year in and year out.
Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson has not demanded a trade, his agent Mark Rodgers told ESPN. Wilson has told the Seahawks he wants to play in Seattle but, if a trade were considered, the only teams he would go to are the Cowboys, Saints, Raiders, Bears.

There have been some hints that Seattle might be looking to rebuild for about a year now and Wilson’s name has started to pop up. It doesn’t sound, based on Schefter’s report that leaving is Wilson’s first option but he might now have much of a choice if the Seahawks make up their mind. He does have some say and the fact that the Bears were mentioned is very surprising and interesting.

If they are really serious about turning the ship around in 2021, this would be something to go after. Even if it is unrealistic, Schefter’s report has to make them at least kick the tires on it. This team needs a quarterback and they aren’t going to get one by sitting back. Russell Wilson coming to Chicago would change the landscape of the NFL.
