Chicago Bears 2021 Free Agency: Top five safety targets

Chicago Bears top free agency safety targets: Jaquiski Tartt
Another safety target for Chicago is a lot like the previously mentioned Bush. Jaquiski Tartt has been with the San Francisco 49ers his entire career after being drafted in the second round out of Samford back in 2015.
In six seasons, Tartt has started a total of 50 games and become a pretty stable member of the 49ers’ secondary. Last season, he missed half the year due to injury, though.
Tartt is one of those safeties who can line up at either spot, which would work to the Bears’ advantage and allow Jackson to play the free position. But, if Jackson ever went down to injury, Tartt would be more than capable to step in and play there if need be.
Out of his six seasons in the league, Tartt has come up with an interception in four of those years. He also boasts 4.0 career sacks and 16 career tackles for loss, so he is a truly versatile player that can line up closer to the box if need be.
He won’t blow you away with many game-changing plays, but Tartt is usually in the right place to make a stop. He’s consistently been a good player for a few years now — not great, but good. When looking at the next starting strong safety, that may be all the Bears need. Not to mention, it may be all they can afford.
