The next Chicago Bears quarterback may be a familiar face in Teddy Bridgewater, who could be on his way out with the Carolina Panthers.

It’s not talked about as much as it should be. The Panthers want to move on from Bridgewater. It’s not a secret anymore.

After the Matthew Stafford trade saga finally ended with him going to the Los Angeles Rams, word came out that the Panthers also made a pretty strong offer to try and land the former Detroit Lions quarterback.

With Stafford in Los Angeles, the Panthers are now rumored to be focusing a lot of their attention on current Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. There have been reports that Carolina is ready to make a push, and could offer the farm for Watson.

Still, Houston says they have no plans to trade Watson. But, the Panthers may continue their efforts. Eventually, either Watson or the Texans will budge. My money is on the Texans.

Back to Bridgewater. It is quite apparent the Panthers do not believe he is their guy, even just one season after signing him to a 3-year deal worth over $60 million. Whether they push hard for Watson or try to land their next quarterback via the draft, Carolina will try hard to move on from Bridgewater.

With the Bears owning the no. 20 overall pick in the draft, their options may be limited to one Mac Jones at that stage in the first round. If they do not opt to trade for Sam Darnold or Marcus Mariota, then Bridgewater would be a decent option.

What would it take for Chicago to land Bridgewater? One of these three trades could end up working out.
