Chicago Bears Mock Draft: A whopping four trades shock the NFL
By Ryan Heckman
In continuing with the theme of surrounding Lance with as much talent as possible, the Bears go tight end in the third round. But first, let’s look at how they got to pick 96 after moving back from the 84th selection.
Bears receive: Pick 96, Pick 128
Bucs receive: Pick 84, Pick 196
Chicago has Cole Kmet, who will be their starter going forward. He has a bright future as the position’s top pass catcher in Chicago. But, the Bears may also cut ties with Jimmy Graham after only one season, just to save a little money.
With that possibility at the forefront of this pick, taking Tommy Tremble is an intriguing move here. He will join his former Notre Dame teammate in Kmet, who he played behind last season.
Tremble is an all-around player at the tight end position, having experience both blocking and catching the football. He would make the Bears much deeper at tight end and give them some solidarity there going forward.
Although his numbers in college may not blow you away, Tremble is a killer athlete. He possesses serious speed at the position and excellent hands. He’s also a solid blocker, which would allow the Bears to use him in multiple ways.
