Hart Trophy

94. . RW. Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Kane. 88. player

As good as Colliton has been so far this season, the Chicago Blackhawks would be absolutely nothing without Patrick Kane. This guy continues to get better with age and is an absolute treat to watch every single night. Without Jonathan Toews this season, he has assumed a leadership role even more than he had before. We always knew Kane to be a leader on the ice with his play but he has really stepped up in all areas this year.

Kane has seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points so far this season. That has him amongst the league leaders in points. Kane definitely deserves consideration for the Hart Trophy as the National Hockey League MVP because he has put this team on his back and carried them. A lot of voters take postseason appearance into consideration so right or wrong, the Blackhawks might need a playoff bid for this to happen.

The award is given to the player that is deemed “most valuable to his team” and there is no denying that this trophy fits the description of Patrick Kane’s role on the Blackhawks. Of course, players like Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Auston Matthews, and Brad Marchand might have a little something to say about that but Kane is definitely in the mix.
