Jack Adams Award

00. player. 94. . Head Coach. Chicago Blackhawks. Jeremy Colliton

Jeremy Colliton is really a good coach. He took a lot of heat when he first replaced Joel Quenneville as the Hawks bench boss and then the following year (last year). Well, we were somewhat wrong because they have been so good this year and he deserves a lot of credit. Whenever a team overachieves with a very flawed roster, the coach is going to get credit. It is also true that when we look at a team that is good when we thought they were going to be bad, the coach gets Jack Adams consideration.

That is the case here with Colliton. He recognized that the goaltenders weren’t getting the job done and made the switch to Lankinen. He has been putting the young defenseman in a position to succeed and the same goes for his young forwards. Some of these guys were not well known going into the season and now they are in a position to win a lot of games.

When you watch this team, you can tell that they work extremely hard. Guys like Brandon Hagel, Matthew Highmore, and Mattias Janmark amongst others just give every bit of their effort. They draw penalties, kill penalties, and contribute offense which is very helpful to this team. Colliton deserves a lot of praise for that.
