Chicago Bears Rumors: Top Allen Robinson tag-and-trade deals
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could tag and trade Allen Robinson to the San Francisco 49ers
The Bears and 49ers could help each other out this offseason. For a while now, San Francisco has been in need of an established number one wide receiver. Last year, rookie Brandon Aiyuk flashed his ability to be a do-it-all type of weapon with great speed. Deebo Samuel is a phenomenal option in the slot.
But, the team doesn’t quite have “that” guy. In Robinson, they would surely get him.
Last year, San Francisco traded a third and fifth rounder to acquire left tackle Trent Williams from Washington. But now, Williams is headed to free agency unless the 49ers can work out a long-term deal.
Maybe, the two teams could help each other out. The Bears would get Williams for Robinson in another straight-up deal. They would then turn their attention to finding their quarterback of the future, along with another top-end wide receiver. But, the one thing they won’t have to worry about? That quarterback’s blind side.
Chicago’s offensive line looked much better down the stretch last year, particularly on the interior. This offseason, they’ll likely part ways with Charles Leno or Bobby Massie, leading to another starter taking their place. If they could get Williams in this deal, Bears fans would have to be satisfied with the outcome.
