Chicago Bears Rumors: Top Allen Robinson tag-and-trade deals
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bears could tag and trade Allen Robinson to the New York Jets
This second deal is arguably the most enticing of any involving purely picks, because the New York Jets are a team looking to make moves. They’re open for business. They have made that clear. Whether that means being open to trading the number two overall selection this year, or anything beyond, New York will look a lot different next season. Moves will be made.
There is no doubt about the fact that the Jets will add a wide receiver this offseason, if not a few. The need for a true number one pass-catcher is apparent after seeing Sam Darnold struggle to get any of his top three guys on the field at the same time in 2020.
The receiving core featured the likes of Jamison Crowder, Breshad Permian, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios last season, but rarely did we see a combination of those guys healthy on the field for a decent length of time.
Robinson gives New York the Pro Bowl wideout they have long desired, and now the question becomes who will throw him the football in 2021?
Chicago comes away with the second pick in the second round this year, which equally goes on the board as a very late first-round pick. There are always guys who grade out as first-round talents, but fall to the second. In this case, the Bears can strike gold at pick no. 34.
