How would the Chicago Bears back field look with Todd Gurley?

Similar to Bell, Todd Gurley is a guy who once dominated the league, and that time wasn’t too long ago. Now coming off of a single season with his hometown Atlanta Falcons, Gurley will be looking his third team in three years.

The Falcons are a rebuilding team that may even end up trading Matt Ryan, which means there is no way Gurley is back. There will be a youth movement happening in Atlanta, and Gurley won’t be part of those plans.

However, the Bears are in desperate need of a true backup running back. Would Gurley be open to becoming the “2B” in a split back field with Montgomery?

If he was, the Bears would be getting a guy who can both run and catch the football and still offers a team some juice. One thing we know about Gurley is that he has always had a nose for the end zone, Last year, he scored nine rushing touchdowns.

Now, he only averaged 3.5 yards per carry as the Falcons could not run the football at all. Part of that was the offensive line, but that’s an area the Bears are certainly trending upward. If the Bears stick with the interior of the line that worked well last year, Gurley could actually provide some solid movement between the tackles.
