Chicago Bulls Rumors: Bulls should consider these Coby White trades
By Ryan Heckman
Coby White goes from the Chicago Bulls to an Eastern Conference contender
There have been plenty of debates over the last couple of years whether or not Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons can co-exist and win an NBA title. This year, it’s working out pretty well so far. But, they have some veteran help, too.
The three-headed monster of Embiid, Simmons and Tobias Harris has the 76ers at 18-7 and looking to take control of the Eastern Conference en route to a title run later this spring. But, they could be looking for additional guard help. In particular, another scorer would serve this team well.
The Bulls would send White to Philadelphia in exchange for a first rounder next year, the 76ers’ second-round pick this year (courtesy of New York) along with guard Matisse Thybulle.
Chicago would get quite the haul, here, honestly. Thybulle isn’t a guy who plays a ton, but averages between 15-20 minutes per night. He’s not going to fill it up offensively. That’s not his game. But, what he offers is exactly what the Bulls are missing.
Thybulle brings it on defense every night. In fact, on a per-36 minute basis, Thybulle is averaging 3.0 steals and 1.8 blocks. The block numbers are astounding, considering he plays shooting guard. That’s phenomenal.
The 76ers get some firepower off the bench in White, unless they decide to start him and move Seth Curry to the bench. Regardless, they have some great scorers and the guys who are better defensively and in terms of facilitating can do just that.
