The Chicago Bears need some help at the quarterback position.

Mitchell Trubisky is not coming back, Nick Foles isn’t good enough, and they don’t have anyone younger in the pipeline. They are almost certainly going to be in the mix to draft someone and make an acquisition in either free agency or the free agent. That, however, is not the only skilled position that this team is in need of. As we saw in Super Bowl LV, weapons on the offense are so important.

Super Bowl LV showed that the Chicago Bears also need a lot of help on offense.

Both teams that played in Super Bowl LV, have a lot of weapons on offense. For the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has studs like Travis Kelce, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Tyreek Hill, and Sammy Watkins amongst others and as a result, they have one of the best offenses in the league. Tom Brady has Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones, Rob Gronkowski, and  Cameron Brate amongst others so it is safe to say that having a plentiful offense is so important.

Of course, you need to be able to play defense but the offensive side of the ball is becoming more important as the years go on. As the Bears have learned during the Matt Nagy/Ryan Pace era, the defense can be the best in the league and mean almost nothing if you can’t score.

Going into 2021, this Bears team is really short on weapons. We have to hope that Cole Kmet turns out to be the tight end that he was drafted to be. It didn’t seem like Nagy used him properly in 2020 as Jimmy Graham was much more involved. Graham had a good year but at his age, he is not a long-term solution.

They might be okay in the running back situation if they keep Tarik Cohen and use him properly. David Montgomery showed us in 2020 that he can be a good running back but he needs to be fed the ball so much more. These two could be a good compliment to each other but they need to prove that they can be a top duo in the league.

As for the wide receivers, the Bears are thin. For one, we don’t know the future of Allen Robinson as he is a free agent. Anthony Miller is one of the most dissapointing players the Bears have had over the past few seasons so he isn’t someone to count on either. There is a chance we go into 2021 with Darnell Mooney as the number one guy. Mooney was a phenomenal find for the Bears in the late rounds of the draft but he is a number three on a championship team.

It isn’t going to fix itself overnight and no weapons will be worth anything if there is no offensive line worth mentioning or a good quarterback. There are a lot of things to work on ahead of 2021 otherwise the coach and GM will be gone. Hopefully, no matter what happens, the Bears end up being a good team out of it all.
