Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Carson Wentz trade changes things
By Ryan Heckman
The Bears did not own a fourth-round pick to begin with, but in this scenario, they move up higher and make a trade with the New England Patriots, who are never shy from making draft day trades. In exchange for pick 111, the Bears trade pick 123 (fourth round) and pick 196 (seventh round).

With that 111th selection, they take a running back who you simply can’t miss at this stage. The fourth round is just about as good of a value you’re going to get on Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard.
With this pick, the Bears round out their running back room and give Nagy a three-headed monster he can use interchangeably on many downs. Of course, David Montgomery is the starter. Tarik Cohen is used best as a third-down guy because of his pass-catching skills.
Hubbard, meanwhile, is a back who projects best as a one-cut rusher; meaning, he’ll make one cut and then it’s off to the races. Hubbard is a patient runner with great speed. Once he hits the hole and sees a little daylight, it could be over for the defense.
He’s one of the best running backs in school history, rushing for a ridiculous 2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2019. Last season, Hubbard and his Cowboys played just seven games, in which he ran for 625 yards and seven touchdowns.
Hubbard won’t overwhelm in the passing game, which is why Cohen will still be an important factor. But, he will give the Bears a phenomenal no. 2 back to spell Montgomery. This running back room immediately becomes the best the Bears have had in many years.
